The Investiture Ceremony
The Investiture Ceremony was held
on June 25 2008. The Secretary, Mr.M.Goplakrishnan
and Ms. P.M Geetha graced the occasion and pinned
the respective badges on the newly elected leaders.
The Vice Principal, Ms. Jean George administered
oath of office to the office bearers.
In his keynote address, Mr.Gopalakrishnan advised
the students and asked them to take their leadership
seriously. Mr. G. Chacko the Principal reminded
them of all the great leaders and urged them
to be a support to the Principal and the Teachers.
One of the teachers spoke about the 3Cs of a
leader; ‘Confidence’, ‘Courage’
and Compassion’. The Ceremony
ended with the rendition of the National Anthem.

Parent-Teachers Association Meet
The first Parents – Teachers
Association meeting was held on July 12 2008.
The Principal, Mr.G.Chacko welcomed all the
members. Apprising all about the ICSE status,
the Principal emphasized the need to maintain
a standard par excellence.
The Secretary, Mr. M.Gopalakrishnan spoke about
the continual developmental plans of the school.

Parents - Teachers meet
Independence Day
The Independence day was celebrated in the school
premises. The chief guest of the day was Dr.Dinakar
Damodaran, Dy. Director ‘When it strikes’.
The programme started with the hoisting of
the National Flag followed by the National anthem,
March past, Fancy dress (Nursery), Speeches,
songs and various other exercises.
The students of the Nursery section looked
absolutely stunning in their colourful costumes.
The themes of the Pre-Nursery, L.K.G and U.K.G
were professions, leaders and costumes of various
states in India respectively. The Chief Guest
Dr. Denakar Damodaran released the first Newsletter
‘Radiance’. It was a dream come
true. The programme ended with a dance by the
senior girls, They swayed to the beats of ‘Vande
Mataram’ By shubha Mudgal. The parents
and other guests were truly delighted by the
performances and the whole Celebration. It was
a walk down ‘memory lane’ for some.
Teacher’s day
Teacher’s day was celebrated in a befitting
manner. There was excitement in the air. The
children of the high school section went as
teachers to the lower classes. They got a small
glimpse into the aspect of classroom teaching.
The Teachers had a seminar. Mrs. Rashmi Ram
presented a paper on ‘effective teaching’.
She emphasized on ‘Planning’ as
the key factor in affective teaching.
Children’s day
Children’s day was a big event this year.
Teachers presented a variety entertainment programme
comprising skits, dance songs etc. The Children
participated in various inter-class competitions
like story telling, card - making, poster- making,
and cooking Competition. The children of Nursery
enjoyed participating in Rhymes, story-telling
Competition.
In all, it was activities galore. The children
had a fabulous time.

Graduation Day



Sports Day
On 24/10/08, Our school was ready to
conduct the annual sports meet at V.E.T ground.
Preparations for the day began a month earlier.
Invitations were also sent to Parents. Tents
were put up to provided seating arrangements
for spectators. The sport’s meet started
at 10 am with a colourful opening Ceremony and
speech delivered by Air Commodore V.S.Govindarajan,
who was the chief quest. There was a March past
by the athletes of different houses Agni, Akash,
Vayu and Prithvi.


After the Oath was taken by the athletes,
the Sports Torch was lit and the chief guest
declared the sports meet open. There were various
events in which all of us participated. The
competition was keen. The participants were
lustily cheered by their classmates during the
races. there were separate events for teachers
and parents too. It was fun to see the otherwise
reserved teachers and parents shed their inhibitions
and compete with all fervour All too quickly
the time came for the day to end. After the
completion of all the events, the chief guest
gave away the prizes. Shouts of approval and
claps of joy filled the air each time a winner’s
name was called. Agni scored the highest points
to win the Overall Championship followed by
Privithvi as the runner up. Even though some
of lost and some won, we consider all of as
winners for winning ourselves such a day.
